As an “old timey” DM who uses miniatures, this place knocks it out of the park. It had a HUGE selection of miniatures, displays of painted minis, books, dice, paints and supplies… and all were friendly and helpful. Pictures are from a display case of the works of local artist, Oscar Lars.

Was skeptical about going to my LGS to play Magic but I've met some awesome people this way and had tons of great experiences. I've interacted with staff many times and they've always been friendly and helpful. I feel extremely lucky to be close to such a cool LGS.

Truly a wonderland of warhammer and other geeky nerd-groceries. The absolute best selection of Games Workshop miniatures in the Richmond area. The actual warhammer store is a mall kiosk compared to the selection here. If that weren't enough for you, the Magic the gathering stock is equally bonkers! I used to travel around town between One-eyed Jacques, Hobby Town, and the Warhammer store finding little bits and pieces for my expensive hobbies, but no longer. A long overdue review. This shop has been the only reason I have continued the hobbies I am into. With used miniatures for 40k at half price, a wide variety of magic singles, a vast paint selection, frequent tabletop gaming events, plenty of space for dnd and other role playing games, and tools for dnd as well. This is my favorite tabletop gaming store ever. The staff is friendly, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. The hours are consistent, and will go past closing hours if an event is happening. Truly the best of the best. Thank you to the staff for being the cornerstone of an amazing comm

Large, well organized game store just outside Richmond. Great selection of Roleplaying Games and and outstanding selection of miniatures from several manufacturers. GW section contains as many models as a Warhammer Store. Good painting/modeling selection as well including comprehensive Citadel, Army Painter and Vallejo offerings. Decent Board game section and unbelievably large and beautiful gaming space including an astounding array of terrain and models.

Battlegrounds is an incredible place to play games, hang out with friends, and buy painting supplies, miniatures and board games, etc. The staff is always friendly and helpful in finding things or placing special orders. They’re also great with taking interest in the games you’re interested in and exploring them with you.
