  Rude customer service. I went into Merlyn's last night and things were good. I was greeted and went about to browse the comic section. By the end of my shopping experience, I was seeing what Magic cards they had behind the counter. The gentleman had said, "If you're looking for Pokémon cards, we're sold out." I responded that I was looking at the Magic cards to see if they had the deck I was searching for. Then he kept bring up that they were out of Pokémon cards, even though I had mentioned I wasn't interested in purchasing any. By the end, I left after purchasing a pack of Magic cards.

  Fist time coming in. Didn't get a chance to walk around because as soon as a walked in I saw a great selection of tcg cards. After working out a fair deal for a box of op12 I noticed Gundam English staring at me like YO... That was my nerd budget for the week. Hopefully next time I can make it through the rest of the store!

  I'd like to preface this with the guy @ the front in the (red?) hat was *incredibly* helpful, and this is NOT aimed at him whatsoever. He was more than eager to help me with anything I selected (I purchased some things anyway). I had brought in a small penny-sleeve worth of MtG trade(s), of which he'd said he could process, no problem. However, upon beginning to process the trade, another individual (who I never got the name of) came over and interjected into the conversation, stating "it is SINGLE trade credit for SINGLES only."   Merlyn's is a comic book shop in central Spokane. It has a nice old school comic shop feel and a large selection of comics and games to enjoy. There are miniatures and dice to play with, along with a nice book selection. The big deal about the shop is that they are the indie shop in the area. There is more than just DC and Marvel, or even Image and Dark Horse. The comics can be obscure new stuff for you to enjoy.

  This review is colored by nostalgia. About 30 years ago a quiet, wide-eyed, imaginative kid first walked into Merlyn's in Spokane. I discovered a wonderful world of make-believe that was a balm to an introverted teen's growing pains. Over the years I've kept one foot in that world, and was happy to see that Merlyn's was still around when I moved back to the area recently. Their selection of board games, models, collectible trading card games and comics is extensive, and their staff is always incredibly friendly and helpful.
